A rare lens because of its quality and speed, hand polished glass and limited quantity. This lens is in excellent condition only two .5 millimeter marks in on rear lens coating barely perceptible with the naked eye, otherwise in mint condition cosmetically and mechanically. An amazing lens only being sold for financial reasons as it has been a life saver at many many weddings.
It comes with both caps. a warming filter and a Hn - 31 Lens hood.
Looks like it is being sold on ebay for up $4000.00

Thank you, it is true I have not sold any equipment here before, or on ebay for that matter as I am not in the business of selling photography equipment. This is a specific item and was recommended this site from a colleague who sold some canon gear here and said it would be a great way to sell my lens and reach a target audience.
As stated I am only selling because I need to, but also, this lens deserves to be used by someone who can really appreciate it
The hood says HN-31 and has a step up ring shown in the picture that goes onto the lens and then the hood screws into that. I have seen another type of hood, possibly the HK-7 and it is of a different type.
I have the 85 1.4 lens as well and the hood I have with that is rubber. This seems to be made out of aluminum or some type of metal.

Because it's the only super-fast wide angle prime Nikon has ever made, and not many of them were made, relatively speaking. It's a sister lens to the 85/1.4, basically, and if the 85/1.4 was as rare, I'm sure it would cost as much.
