Wow, Ken - what an absolutely incredible set!
I am so glad you explained the Holy Grail thing - I've seen it mentioned, but didn't know the translation. It's pretty clear why it is a badge of honor. This series deserves an award of some sort. I am in awe.
Thanks for letting us see this!
Marcy
Thank you Marcy. Yeah, it's a search for those defining shots that you see other people getting that you yourself believe will never happen to you. I'm so glad I've got this out of the way so I can go in search of the next Holy Grail

Ken, what a great series. And some very funny posts in this thread!
I am posting here to increase your message count, I hope you appreciate it
these are great shots, you must have a really nice camera. lol
but seriously, nice work - you should be proud of yourself! capturing the entire series like that, not just one shot
btw, it looks like these are from April? wow, you take a long time to post photos! (or your exif data is wrong)
Scott
Hi Scott,
Feel free to increase my message count anytime you feel like it
I do have a good equipment and a reasonable amount of skill. The combination of the two really helps. Some of my earliest attempts at photographing Osprey diving for fish were complicated by a short focal lenth zoom and an entry level DSLR. My keeper rate has gone up since adding longer glass and a pro level body with accurate focus control.
Yeay, I've been sitting on these for a while. I shoot so much I sometimes have trouble getting the time to process and post all the images I post. They are just as good today as they were in April so I see no harm in it

The term 'awesome' shouldn't be thrown around lightly, but it sure fits your series. Wow! It must have been totally exhilarating to find that you'd succeeded with getting quality shots of the entire sequence.
Thank you, PJ. Getting the whole sequence in focus and in frame is always a plus I have been the victem of the opposite more times than I care to mention.
Glad you enjoyed them and thank you for your "awesome" comments
Amazing shots!!!!!! Fantastic color and sharpness.
I would like to here more about what happen between the crow(s) and the osprey. I would have imagined the osprey should be able to take on a crow, being a bird of prey and all.

Thank you, Dude!
Actually, the Osprey was pretty worn out from 20 minutes of flying and diving that it pretty much ignored the crow's attempts to run it off. Within about 2 minutes of the crows appearance the Osprey went into it's dive and the crow got bored and flew away. I've seen crows harassing Osprey many times before but they seldom seem to care too much and I've never seen a hostile encounter. I did witness a Red-tailed Hawk take down a crow one day and that is shot I sorely regret not getting when it happened.

WOW. And I thought I would only see such an act on Animal Planet. I bet your heart was racing a mile a second. Great work.
Thanks Eric. It all happend so fast my heart never had time to get going. You would be surprise how quickly things like this can happen and if you blink its over.

since these are not copyrighted i hope you dont mind if i copy them and show my friends what I took pictures of this weekend. i wont publish them just trying to impress my friends. Oh and what kind of fish is that just incase they ask?
Hi Greg,
If you want to take my photos and claim them as your own feel free. I feel priveleged that you think so highly of them that they are worth taking and sharing with your friends The fish is a carp. Not as respectable as a Trout, Salmon or Halibut but still worthy of noting for the record.
