kodakeos Offline Upload & Sell: On p.1 #1 · UWA zoom lenses - keep the 10-22 or no? I have been a long time lover of the 10-22, on my 20D, 40D, and IR rebel. Its GREAT, super wide, sharp, USM... This Xmas I got a 10-17 Tokina Fisheye. Its nice, really fun at weddings and such, but its not an every day lens. I bought this one because i could use it on a FF if I ever went there... Well, I bought a 1Ds II and now I need a wide for that. The fisheye is Fantastic on it, and I think even has more distortion on the FF @ 17, than the crop @ 10. But its not a lens I can use everyday, again.. so I was considering selling the 10-22, and getting a 16-35 MI, as they can be had for about 900, and with the 10-22 going for around 600, I would be able to get a FF, 2.8, weather sealed for about 300. But i loose the UWA on the crop. Not a Big deal, but, as the 40D is my second camera, my "sports" camera, and the rebel, I would like to have a UWA for those. The question is, how well does the fish-eye UN-fish in PP. So, is it worth it to keep the 10-22 for the 2nd body and IR camera? Or would the 16-35 suffice for most of it, unless i need to go really wide, at which point I could use the fisheye, or the 16 on the 1ds... I thought I read somewhere that the 10-22 was not great for IR (I think Focus and/or hotspots) but then if you have used it you will know better. Oct 12, 2009 at 08:33 AM
