The Zuiko 50/1.2 doesn't have very swirly bokeh. Swirly bokeh is one of the reasons I didn't keep my Rokkor 58/1.2.

As deepbluejh noted, "Pretty much all of the super fast 50s will do this". I agree. Any f1.2 normal (50-ish) lens would have done the same thing if used to take this identical shot. In fact, a 50 would have even busier blur due to the focal length difference.
Your headache (which I seriously question) is due to my technique. I suppose I owe an apology?
my 50L does not really do swirl at all, probably going to check a biotar or a cheaper helios.
Are helios lens even any good? I am looking at pics of the actual lenses and they look... "rural"

Well, as you very well know, you can certainly judge a lens by its appearance. Just like people and books.
EDIT: Add smilie to make it obvious I am just kidding around.
I don't know if this photo qualifies, but I guess the bokeh in the trees behind my wife appears to swirl a bit. Shot with my EF 50mm f1.8II @ f2 on a Rebel XTi.
Yes, it does, and that lens is not known for "swirl". Which further proves the point that circumstances often dictate swirl more than the lens itself. Granted, some lenses (as discussed here) are much more likely to show it.

Oh, I wouldn't consider Helios lenses to be "Good". They're adequately sharp, but only adequately. The price reflects this. I got mine for $10.
I guess we all have our definition of "good". I'd say the Helios lenses are good. Are they great? Spectacular? Mind-boggling? No. Good? Yes. Maybe even "quite good". Sort of in the way that the EF 50/1.8 II is "quite good" for what it is.
Subjective, as usual, but "adequately sharp" is the same thing as "good" to me.
After all, if it isn't good, then what is it? Bad? Not bad? A dog? Shite?
I am trying a helios, getting it in mint condition for 10 euros, too bad I pretty much dislike the 58mm FL.
I sure wish we had more 40mm"ish" fast awesome lens...

Cool shots TWoK!
I particularly like the Nikkor 5.8cm f/1.4. I've been looking for one since the day I saw your samples on this forum.
Thanks, it is a very, very good lens. I actually have 3 copies, one never leaves my F, the other is AI'd and a third won't focus to infinity and is really beat up and AI'd. If you are interested in the 3rd copy I'll sell it very cheap...
