Jaddie -- It is typically the beginning photographers who seem to attach value to Paul's presence. I understand where you're coming from. You've bought some lights and need to validate that it was a good decision. Well, I can confirm that for a beginner it was a very good decision. And more to the point, Paul has been introducing some really cool products into the market lately. The PLM, The Cyber-thing-a-ma-jiggies, and if the Einstein lights get released, they appear to have specs that even a pro could appreciate.
The thing is, you can get all this information at Paul's site, just as you can the same information about Profoto and Hensel and their site. And if you've got a question, you can get it answered by sending an email or contacting a photography store like B & H, Samy's, Calumet, etc.
The issue is you're going to get a biased opinion from Paul. Just as you would get a biased opinion from the owner of Profoto about his lights. If you want to learn about how lights work in real-world usage on a set, then you need speak with a photographer who has experience with the units you're interested in to understand the pros and cons and whether or not the units are the right ones for your workflow.
There is a plethora of photographers on this site who own Paul's gear and can share details with prospective buyers on this forum. There is never a shortage of threads on this site with people talking about Paul's gear. So what's the harm in having Paul here selling his lights? Not much at all. Like I said, I'm impressed with what Paul's doing and think he makes lights that are good quality and available for the average photographer who isn't making any money yet.
To my knowledge I'm the only photographer I know of to use Paul's lights on a commercial set. I've been to hundreds of photoshoots for brands ranging from BMW, Nike and fashion brands too numerous to mention, and I have never seen them in use. I, on the other hand, have used Paul's gear for Armani, La Perla, Victoria's Secret and even a GM print ad, but these were smaller jobs with less demands light-wise.
I can confirm the lights worked without error and were generally a pleasure to use. They have limitations, but all lights and modifiers do. My take is that I can tell much you more about the pros and cons of the lights I've than any owner/manufacturer possibly could. Paul may know a great deal of the technical specs, but a better resource are the guys here on this board who work use the gear you're interested.
