p.1 #1 · Thai Musician With Paper Texture

I have the original B&W posted on the Black and White Vision forum. In this version I have applied a distressed paper texture. What do you think?

IMHO a bit sober and dimensionless. I love the texture.

Hmmm...I don't know

It's actually not important what I think of it, it's much more important what YOU think. If YOU think it's okay, than it is okay.
I like the framing from the 2nd more.

Dick,

Thanks for the input. Could you clarify dimensionless? I know what that means as math term but not in this context. I am fine with the image in it's pure B&W photographic form but thought I would experiment with textures etc.

I like the texture. I think it fits the image. I do like the 2nd one best.

Thank you mkweaver. I am experimenting with textures to see what works for me.

I like the second one with more texture better, it gives it more dimensionality, as opposed to being dimensionless. I think the term "dimensionless" just means it looks rather flat, whereas in the second image, the person tends to pull more toward the foreground, i.e., more 3d'ish.

Thanks Jo. Your comments are very helpful. I agree, the second version has a more 3D feel.

I like the first one better. To me it has more depth. If you use the frame from the second version it would give more demention to it.
