I cannot go into much details because i dont know how trackable it is, but what i seen today will change your nikon "life" within single digit of months.
Whatever camera you have now, start saving :-), you will thank me later. :-D
Now lock the thread because i already said too much

Is Nikon selling experience? The ability to see and take beautiful photos? I sure could use that... doubt any gear they come up with will be life changing for me.
If we all reply every so often, this thread will stay on top...unless you have info on an affordable FF with top notch af and ISO performance...Nikon updating their prime lens lineup...it's just another one of these rumor threads...here we go again D800, D4 and list goes on.

You mean the D4xs with a 40MP sensor, 24 frames per second unlimited continuous shooting and 1080i video capability ... not to mention telepathic predictive auto focus guaranteeing 100% focus accuracy for every frame and noiseless images from ISO 25 up to 102,400? All for under $4,000?
guys, there is no real need to update lenses. Sure NAS and all, but when you really think about it, you can have for all focal ranges everything you might dream about already. Old or new, it is there. I would much more like better flashes, and radio CLS than any new lens.
I would not sell everything but i decided to not buy new * camera from * manufacturer i have been renting often enough to justify the purchase , and if i would not be in Nikon camp, i would do the switch right now
P.S. i will not look at this thread again. Too tempting
Well all I know is that I am 100% sure that sooner or later, Nikon will introduce a new camera. Might not be what we/I want, but the D300s is not going to be the final product Nikon puts their name on.

A D700x with the silly video that is all the rage?
It must be rather better than the D3X or I'm not interested.
EBH
good to see i'm not the only person not thrilled by the evolution of video into SLR photography.
The release of which was simply for soccer moms who want to video kids games and such, a pointless addition being that $100 camcorders take better video than $1000+ SLR's.
It's the return of the Nikon Rangefinder, M mount compatible with new AF lenses, 24mp sensor, 1080P, an actual viewfinder, and a place to put a red badge should you so desire. Or maybe it's a talking photo printer.
