I don't have much to say other than its introduction, along with the GF1 is the thing that will replace my D50/35G combo. But I suspect it won't be as "wow" sharp as the Nikkor, which is ridiculously sharp wide-open.
Tariq, thanks for that. I intend to buy the GF body alone when BH make it available, and the 20 as a separate purchase (I have the 14–45 zoom on the G1 already), to avoid tripping the ridiculous $1,000 Customs threshold we have here which, with all the taxes, adds about 30% to the cost!
You pay for the shipping twice, of course, but these are tiny things... I'm excited.
The dpreview sample on warship taken at f/8, do you guys think it is kind of soft at optimal aperture, or is that difraction (seems a little early to me)? I didn't look through all the samples though. The other near wide open sample looks fine for the aperture though.
*sorry everybody for the Oz specific question*
Kit, what taxes? Everytime I've been over the $1k limit I paid 10% for gst plus a handling fee of about $30.

Ummm.... GST is a tax.
And for the announced AUD of $799.00 I'll pass on the 20mm, unless it's cheaper OS.
The name alone makes think of small cheap plastic kitchen appliances. The mofo could be a gold plated masterpiece, but Matsushita has a certain four letter word in its name...

Not that I'm holding my breath, but I'd like to see what Leica is coming on with on 9/9 as far as inexpensive, high quality, photography products hahahahahahahah
There are already rumors about Leica introducing the "X1" being an APS-C with a fixed 24/2.8 lens. This is completely illogical considering their partnership with Panasonic, so I would assume the rumor mill just took a bad guess on a legit photo and that it's actually their m43 offering. You can't see a lens release in image floating around, which I suspect is why people are guessing it's fixed, but it appears to have a lens mount ring and the angle it was shot at would "hide" a lens release on Leica since it would be on the side covered by the lens.
