I'm curious if anyone has found a flash web gallery solution with an index page that displays all available galleries (maybe with a thumbnail image from each) yet also enables a different username/password for each gallery.
I know coppermine, 4images et al offer some impressive configuration options that fit the bill, but I specifically wanted to stick to a flash-based solution and avoid what I consider the visual clutter of php/SQL gallery solutions (YMMV).
I've used Simpleviewer a lot in the past and have messed around with the indexing capability in the "pro" version (svmanager) but it offers limited password options. Instead I've usually resorted to manually setting htaccess files for each gallery's folder, but the problem then is that the index page cannot pull a random thumbnail image (because they're in a folder that's password protected on the server).
Fotoplayer talks the talk, but I cannot understand how the pro version can be configured... it seems to exist only as a skin for jalbum, lightroom etc. SlideShowPro is perhaps the best flash-based gallery software out there (IMO) but is notably lacking any sort of password features (and the developers apparently don't plan to add this)
