Shot my 6th wedding recently. This one was outdoors in Riverside, CA in nearly 100 degree heat. Had a lot of fun with this couple but with all the Uncle Bob discussion going on around here I couldn't help but wonder if my work is on par with what Uncle Bob would get if he/she were to shoot the wedding. I'm looking for ways to improve my photography and steer far away from the "snapshot" genre so any constructive criticism on how better to differentiate my work would be highly appreciated! I guess I could just say to myself, "how Uncle Bob would shoot this sequence" and just do something different and more creative but that's easier said than done!
Here are some of my favorites from my last one. I'm primarily a zoom lens shooter but am thinking of dabbling again with primes for better subject isolation using more shallow depth of focus ... but not sure if its worth the investment.
1. the lamp is distracting to me in the background.
5. her face could have been lit up a bit with some fill in there.
10. pretty nice picture of her, i am sure she will enjoy it.
18. would have liked to see more of her dress in that one.
19. seems off kilter or a bit crooked to me.
23. I understand why you put them there, but i keep seeing those trees as growing out of them.
Overall, it's seems to be a beautiful wedding, and a nice location.
I am not certain who Uncle Joe is (perhaps a distant relative of Uncle Bob?) but you don't seem to resemble either one of them...at least not to me.

Appreciate the feedback and all points well taken! Uncle Joe/Bob reference fixed...but glad you got what I was getting at. It must have been late!
