p.1 #1 · Recommendations for wide neck strap for D700 and heavy lens
Will be carrying 2 bodies and lenses this weekend including a 70-200 lens. Can anyone recommend a suitable neck strap in place of the one that comes with the Nikon D700? Happy to use third party.

Not a neck strap, but have seen the Cotton Carrier, /www.cottoncarrier.com/. I don't have one but it looks interesting. Right now I like the R-Strap. You could take a look at them also.

For very heavy setups, like a 1D and 70-200 f/2.8 or 100-400, it's hard to beat an Op-Tech Utility Strap mated with a set of pro loops. It's wide and comfortable but not bouncy like the Pro Loop.

I just spent a day & 1/2 at a car show with my 1Ds2 & 24-105 slung from a Crumpler Industry Disgrace strap set very long. I carried them across my chest and was able to pull the camera up & shoot without changing it to the neck slung position. I was quite happy with it, but I've also bought an Op Tech & longer straps to try at my next outing to see if it's better / worse / or similar. I am a bit concerned about the quick connects that it uses, so may add a safety strap (tie wrap or similar) to them.

I found it at a local camera store (Henry's) and at a lower price than sold by B & H. I had read a review of them and was thinking of ordering one, but accidently spotted them while shopping for a specific camera bag. So far I like it quite a bit, but I haven't yet used the Op Tech long enough to properly compare them head to head. I will be shooting an event next week where I'll have 2 pro bodies with heavy lenses on all day.
