Thanks so much Morris. Sometimes when I'm shooting along side other photographers using top-of-the-line PRO camera, I kind of feel intimidated by the sounds of machine-gun-like shutters going off. I do enjoy the experience however, the sound reminds me of being in the middle of a thunderstorm, or hearing it in your home theater with SURROUND SOUND.

You certainly captured the dynamic nature of this bird Andy and the intensity of the action and competition for the food. All great pics and I think the first and the last complement the others real well by showing the bird in perspective to the environment.

#15 is my favourite shot of these incredible moments of action.

I see a lot of bird images, and these are some of the best I action shots have seen for some time! What a pleasure viewing, I wish other posters would post so many [great shots like this series together].

Can you tell us about the EXIF information for some of the shots and the amount of cropping you were required to make. Many of the images look no less than a 50% crop.

Martin, I'm so glad that you liked the first and last ones. I had to change to a wide angle lens, that means I would be missing out on many close-up opportunities for the best hour of sunlight. These terns are tough to capture the exact moment you want cause they're so fast and can change direction unpredictably. Thanks for the nice comment, buddy.
