Weird, our online sales have spiked huge and now represent a significant portion of our earnings. I'd attribute alot of that to buying a Pickpic cart. For some reason it must be more user-friendly or engineered to drive sales because we've made more in the last few months that we made in the last 3 years.

I've heard this... Does Pickpic fulfill through WHCC yet, or do you still need to do it yourself?

Ours varies wildly by shoot. Some have no print sales while others have hundreds of dollars.

I don't actually know. I use WHCC and I think there is some new add-in to Pickpic to help with fulfillment but I haven't looked into it yet. I'd still rather get the prints in my hands and check them before sending them out, but I'm low volume enough to manage that. No doubt its coming if not already here.

I'm the opposite... I'd rather not deal with it if I trust the lab... That's really the only reason I haven't switched to Pickpic... I don't really have time to fulfill orders myself.

Aha, its the lab trusting issue that comes into play then...

My sales are up, but I just started using event cards so the gallery traffic is way up.

Since everyone and their dog brings their digicams to weddings and snaps hundreds of mostly crappy pictures (to be uploaded and tagged on facebook 19 minutes and 23 seconds after getting home) it is really no surprise that print sales have been declining.

I used to get decent print sales from most weddings, but over the past year it has slowed to a trickle. I'm still doing everything I need to do to promote the website while at weddings, but the sales just aren't coming.

I can't say this has been particularly devastating. Push comes to shove, what usually happens is that up-front prices get raised to compensate for dwindling print sales. The net effect is roughly zero.

Our print sales are down, yes. But we also increased our prices. So it's probably a mixture of the economy and that. That's why our "front end" went up. Last year it was a $125 sitting fee for non-wedding shoots. This year it's $200. And our bookings are up.

We use Miller's online system. Pay $40 a month for unlimited galleries and clients order straight from them. I love it. Never had to touch a thing!

I rarely sell any wedding images online. Sports, however, is a different story. Lots and lots of sales on that end.

$40 a month seems high. What is the off-the-top percentage. Millers takes per order?

Zenfolio offers all of that, and for $100 per year. Their commission is 12%, but you do save a lot on hosting fees.

I like expiration dates.

Never looked at Zenfolio... we had already used Millers for prints and liked what we got from them. So it seemed an easy choice.
