I was also troubled by the speed with which images change in the opening screen. I also found distracting the fact that each photo was of a different size, resulting in the panels at either side of the image expanding and contracting to accommodate the image. It creates an unsettling busyness to the site that I personally found distracting.
I really like your images and particularly enjoyed the series of photos taken in the foundry. It would have been nice to be given the option of cycling through that set with some sort of slide show rather than clicking on each photo. Perhaps that option was available and I simply missed it.
With those observations I'll say I love some of your images, especially the coffee cup with coffee running toward the bottom of the screen, and like the basic layout of your site. I like the fonts you've used, as well as the colors selected for each image displayed. Fine work.
Incidentally, I'll be hosting a friend from Rotterdam in September. I'll pass along a link to this discussion and perhaps she'll have comments as well. She shares my love of photography. Good luck.
I'm the friend from Rotterdam that CGrindahl mentioned.
I took a look at your website, and I like it, although (and that may not surprise you) I find the changing of the images too fast. Maybe it's your goal to make people curious by giving them just a short peek, but it's a too fast to my liking.
Your pictures are very good, I really like the ones of the blacksmith, and then especially the hand.
Good work overall. Thanks for sharing.
