I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on that one. I, along with thousands of sports shooters around the world who shoot at night or in dim arenas, frequently use ISO settings greater than 800 on a mark 2 and get excellent results! Heck, even on a 1D classic you can still get good stuff at 1600...
As well, you have the advantage of modern noise reduction in the newer versions of photoshop, and if you still have issues, then you can always give noise ninja a try...
