Nice capture! I don't think you blew the highlights, but I do think it would benefit from a wee bit more contrast in the clouds, that would really make them dramatic. I like the layering in the mountains and don't feel the need to see any more detail there.

Thanks for the kind words. The clouds are not blown in the original, but I find when I convert to sRGB, my files don't turn out the same.

The image was processed in Lightroom 1.4, so I really don't have any local control. I plan to upgrade to Lightroom 2 so I can make local and global changes to the image.

After enduring the 100+ (F) heat out there, it was a treat to get at least one keeper.

Ubuhle: Strong image. Nothing like billowing stormy clouds over hills or mountains. This one could work also with a crop from the top frame edge down to a point that just hides that small cloud on the left. The horizontal dark clouds then echo the line of the hills. The image becomes panoramic, but works for my eye.
