I never use live view unless I am shooting macro shots. The AF takes to long and the mirror dropping, raising, dropping, then finally raising again takes forever.

@ jon49erfan yah, AF is too slow, but i thing manual focus does the job, what do you think?

i never use it apart from landscape + on a tripod for the focus but even then rarely

Ohhh k, I have friends who are professional wedding Photographers, and I'm inspired by their work and all of their works were amazing. One thing I'm surprised with them, is that they shoot using live view with their Canon DSLR cameras. From the start to the end of the wedding or event day. They all shoot using Live view!

I think it's because you can see clearly the sharpness of the image rather than sticking your one eye to the camera. I wanna try using live view shooting events.

How bout you guys? do you know some one using live view from a Nikon cam during the wedding day?

Oh, by all means, you should. I can see the attraction to it. I just found that my framing was better the traditional way. But that's me. I tend to move when framing with live view and never get what I want. I'm much more steady doing it traditionally.

I think you are right, most of us here are comfortable with what we have done for years.

Once you test it out, tell us what you think.

Yah, as early as now, I'm gonna get used to shooting with live view. Since I'm kinda new and experimenting things bout photography.

I've seen Great Photographers using live view all the way "Using Canon". Then Why not give a try "On Nikon"

I have used live view a few times to check WB. With Live View on, you can scroll thru all the WB options, and see instant results, but I’ve only done that a couple of times. Other than that, Live view is a worthless klunky feature I won’t use. Besides that, it’s too hard to see what one is doing in the daylight with Live View.

That WB feature sounds interesting. Might be good for initial set-up. I'll have to try it.

I tryed it when I got the camera, you have to try it before you can judge it. Now I know .... it's not my thing. Slow and made me remember my old compact camera.

I know this isn't the answer you are expecting.. but I use my liveview on the D700 when trying to shoot something from a difficult angle where I can't get to the viewfinder... ie: holding the camera above my head to get a shot. This isn't very often, but it is certainly useful to have.

I constantly use Live View. Its like a view camera in minature.

For landsacpe work combined with contrast based focus you can really dial in your picture. Zoom in after focusing and you can check near and far focus ("hyperfocal distance" and "depth of field") I find it totally invaluable.

Oh...and wb for tricky shots is easy that way too.

Oh ya, I also use Liveview on my D90 from time to time.... so in general, yes - I like Liveview, even though I thought I would have no use for it at all.
