p.1 #1 · How to telll if a camera is the USA version
I'm looking to pick up a D90 through a private transaction and was wondering how I would tell if the camera is USA version with USA warranty? Does anyone have a picture of their warranty card so I can compare when I pick up the camera? Thanks!

If he has the box, it will say D90 (U) on the side. (U) stands for USA. Of course, check to make sure the serial numbers on the camera and box agree. If no box, call Nikon as mentioned above.

Which is almost meaningless because the US warranty is only for the original purchaser. If the seller gives you their original sales receipt, you can probably get away with it (because Nikon will ask for it regardless of whether the camera is already registered with them) but if they notice that you're not them (I supposed you can say it was a gift), they probably won't repair under warranty. The U.S. warranty on bodies is only a year, so how much of the warranty can possibly be left anyway?
Although....Nikon won't repair a grey-market body even if you're willing to pay, so having the body be a U.S. version is still a benefit after the warranty period is expired.
