I'm not a bird expert; in fact, these are the first bird images I've taken. These two chicks and mother were in a park right across the street from my house. I took about 25-30 images before it got too dark outside. The sun had already set and these were with what ambient light was left. The chicks remained huddled down like this the whole time. These were the clearest shots of their faces I could get. The image of the adult was taken into the remaining sunset and I wanted as much detail on the owl as possible, therefore the overexposed sky. In hindsight, I guess I could have done HDR. Oh well, be easy, this is my first time posting images on FM. Thanks for your comments!
Congrats on your find on these! I wouldn't worry about the sky on #1, a little more exposure would have even worked better but I agree #3 is a cute shot Hope you give a few more bird images some thought, you may have fun with it!

I may just do that! Although I might need to get a longer lens. the 70-200 doesn't quite have the reach. But it is fun! Thank you for the comment!
Nice images. When you have a light background dial in some exposure compensation to the plus side. You'll have to adjust the amount according to the situation.

Ok, that makes sense. I could have done that with the first image for sure. Thank you for the help!
Thx for sharing these. I have been cling to the hope that I will get some shots of an owl or owls to add to my numerous bird photos. So far, I have just enjoyed yours and the other outstanding shots posted on FM. Keep posting your pictures.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I was surprised to find these so close to my house. Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find some!
