My goal for this trip was to create some texture-rich abstract shots. I'm thinking along the lines of images that would print very large for home interiors that could compliment the interior design, but not be so bold that they distract from anything else in the room. I did have a couple grand vista shots planned, but had to put those off until my next trip. CBS is a great sunset location (also good at sunrise, but mostly sunset), and while I was there, it was VERY windy around sunset. My 8x10 or 4x5 cameras are like sail boats, and would result in soft images. I love heading there to do some shooting, as well as scouting for my return trip. There were some great wildflowers there during my visit, but perhaps a bit past their prime. I think I'm going to try to make it there next year in May when I have more flowers to choose from.
