Hello there, I've just moved over to Canon from Blad/Leaf. I got a 5dmk2 and some lenses and was setting up the 24-70 nodal point on my RRS pano head. The rail is almost right at the very end of its reach to get the point at 24mm. Has anyone else discovered this? The parallax is perfect, I did a quick and dirty interior pano to test it and near objects came in a treat, it is just that the camera is so far back on the rail it becomes very back heavy. I'd love to hear from anyone with similar experience. Thanks, Craig

is that because its extended at the short end on that lens?

Yep, same experience with my 24-70 on the RRS basic pano set-up. The RRS stuff locks down so tight, though, that I haven't had any issues with creep or the clamp letting go.

For 24-70/2.8 pans I use the RRS B200 macro rail, which is longer than the rail in that kit.
