They look good to me. Nice scenes, sharp and crisp. 3 is my pick. It is not my favourite light, a little bit harsh but nevertheless very inviting images.

Hello Paul, I agree with Ute about the hard light, but the processing looks OK. The second would be my pick.

Thank you both again for the commments. I think the hard light is going to be the hardest thing for me to overcome. It is difficult to be there at the right time with family.

Hey Paul,

I am with Ute on #3. You did a great job with the foreground on that one.

As to the harsh light, one of the things you can do is shoot with a polarizer to try and knock down the reflections on rock surfaces. So you have to balance that a bit as you adjust it with the effect it will have on the sky, but using a polarizer will help. Also, be sure to watch your highlights as you shoot. Be sure to have that option enabled as you view the shot in the LCD. You will need to pull some detail out of the darker shadows when processing, but that usually will look better then having the harsh light bouncing in your face.

Isn't that a great hike!!!!!
Beautiful scenes, Paul, and the others have touched already on the light you had to deal with. The softer light and contrasts make the 3rd my pick, too.
Love that view up Glacier Gorge!
