p.1 #1 · Elvis has NOT left the building!

Hey, photog friends -
I'm ahead of schedule, so am posting this one early since I'm going on vacation after this week where there is no internet!
Very heavy processing, but still looks better than the smooth version.
For your (and my!) amusement...I hope!
Thanks,
Tim

Tim,
The King is dead.
Long live the freak!
(I don't know what I mean either, but it's some vague reference to the photographer- not Elvis ).
Another wiener of a photograph. You're too cool.
Charlie

Very cool Tim. Now for the real question...how much of that Elvis stuff is yours?

Some things never go out of style...
Elvis, and air performances when nobody is home to hear and see me!

Thanks, Tim.
Sad part is, that's only a fraction of the collectible crap I have on him. I just didn't feel like dragging any more out!
I was very into him in years past. I did a mean impression, too (nothing like the pose here!). Was even asked by strangers to perform at private parties. I never did, but was quite the hit on karaoke nights and wedding receptions! Oh, and my real fame came on my honeymoon. Once I performed on the cruise, I was simply called "Elvis" by everyone on that ship! Was kinda fun.
Anyhow, I had to get this junk put away before my wife got home! No real shrine in my living room since I got married!

Tim

Please give me just a little tiny piece of your creativity its not fair you have so much and I have none. This one completely rocks no pun intended from the way you have everything laid out to the awesome expression on your face way to cool. Digging the way you composed here the side angle and your head turned. Really a toss up between B&W and Color. You need to put this in this weeks WA you will kick a**s.
See you Tuesday at noon.

You know, I actually have been tossing some ideas around on that!
Maybe if I can come up with something thought provoking, yet not controversial. Pretty challenging idea. Seems to be two pretty solid schools of feeling on MJ.

Yeah! Long live RocknRoll!

The texture in the rug, which to me comoes out nicer in the color photo make it, overall, the more pleasing to me.

Colour for the win this time.

made me chuckle again. but i can see a glaring mistake!

there is definitely some blank wall at the back that isn't covered by memorabilia!

i think i prefer the colour version once more. i do hope these are going to find their way on to the family wall in some way or another.

Thanks, Ray! To be honest, I wasn't much of a fan of this shot. As much as I aim to over-process these, this one was more than I want, but I couldn't seem to get it where I want. I appreciate the comment on the composition, too. Believe it or not, many practice shots and comps go into the final product!

Thank you much! I appreciate your +++ on this one, as I loved the concept but didn't get the result I hoped for. Too lazy to drag out all the memorabilia again and re-shoot though!

Oh, trust me, Martyn - I could have easily filled the walls with stuff packed away in boxes! Was a bit fanatical in days past!
Glad you got a chuckle! At the end of the day, that is my goal!

Sweet collection, and even sweeter picture! Have you invested in a remote trigger yet?

Thanks, Eric!
Actually, was shopping remotes today. Would have been nice to have on some of these shots. Especially the tetherball shot. Not much time to hit the shutter, run to the ball, wrap it around my neck and act like I'm hanging!

Another of your wildly amusing shots, Tim. You ought to have entered one of these in last week's WA since the topic was "Self Portrait". This would have done well. Personally, I again think the wild colors lend themselves more to the subject matter and help to keep the image from looking overly busy. Still, I like the B & W, too. It's all great fun and you definitely have a distinctive style.

All the best,

Endre

Thanks, Endre!
It's been a fun little experiment. I know that using some external lighting would give me the true results I am wanting, but I guess I haven't committed to it that far! My ultimate goal when I picked up a camera was to make images which bring either tears or smiles. Right now I'm having a good time trying to create images which bring smiles. Would be nice if I could bring those smiles in the same respectable way your shots do, rather than acting like a clown for the camera. Haha! Oh, well, the world needs clowns, too, right?!

Hey, thanks, Terry! Much appreciated!
Started vacation today, so I hope to get some more shots done next week when I'm not lounging at the lake!
