I recently made some shots of this kind and also of the orange kind (which is amazing). They are so much nicer than the small damselflies because they are bigger and flap their wings quite slowly.
Your shot is very good, Matt; I didn't manage to get a shot with enough DoF, but it was quite windy... Did you notice that under a certain angle, the wings have a purple sheen?

I really prefer these closeups that include the flower or plant vs a macro
p.s. I also shoot a sig 150 and it is a superb lens for closeups
