Steve (and any others who look at my photo), Any comments for improvement? I'm new to digital photography (D300 for 5 months) and am trying hard to update my skills. any critique would be helpful. I have thick skin!

Composition, angle, colours, sharpness are all great but the direct flash looks a bit too much. A diffuser would have made it perfect.
