Yes it will stay at the aperture you set until mounted on an EF body again. I set it to F11 on all my EF lens will shooting. I am still very grateful for the tip by jcolwell.

I was going to take my EF 15mm FE but decided on the Sigma Circular FE instead.

Got mine from jinfinance today. The lens to adapter side fits beautifully. DOn't have a body yet, so don't know about the body side or infinity, but it looks nicely made. It's a bit bigger that I had thought it would be. A standard lens starts to look like a short telephoto with the adapter...

I have talked to JR and he claims that this adapter is EF-S compatible. However, he did not present any pictures showing an EF-S lens attached to a MFT body. Can anybody please verify this?

Yakim, it probably wouldn't matter, would it?? The EF-S mount is the same--but just extended into the body more as I recall. The adaptor would leave plenty of room for that extension. The big deal would be lens to sensor depth--I don't know enough about it to know if that would be right, but should be. I could use an EF-S lens (I had the 10-22) on any of my 1.6x bodies but I can also use any of my EF mount on the same cameras--so, seems it should work. Since there are no electrical contacts the lens will operate full open unless you use jcollins tip of setting aperture and dismounting while pressing the DOF button.

Not necessarily. My EF-S lenses don't mount on my Kenko extension tubes. I bought a Canon EF 12 II just to be able to do that.

I want a concrete information.

Got my adaptor today. I'm very happy with it--Lensbaby, TSm my 15 FE--all work great with the G1. The LB and FE are fine, size wise. The TS is large, heavy and unwieldy on it, but I still think I'll enjoy shooting with it with MF assist. Having just tried all of them (plus a couple of small primes), I'm happy I bought the adaptor.

Yakim, I don't. When I sold my 20D several years ago to buy my 5D I sold my 10-22. I have a 400D and a 10D converted to IR but use non-EF-s lenses on them.

I played with my tilt shift, 15 FE and Lensbaby in my garden briefly late yesterday afternoon. RAther than post the 9 photos, here's the link

if anyone wishes to see. For the TS, I did a 3 flat stitch pano which is done by moving the lens to the right and left--the camera doesn't move. Very easy to stitch. I also tilted to increase perception of DOF--did the focusing on the right side of the image (pond) and as the garden curved toward me the focus changes a bit. I also did 2 selective focus shots--one with the focus vertical to the right of center and the other I rotated the lens about 45 degrees and chose a focus down toward the left corner so the focus wedge goes at an angle in that area--as opposed to the horizontal plane of focus one would get with a normal lens.

The others are with the Sigma 15 FE--I did 2 with it open at f/2.8 and then changed the aperture by using the trick of DOF preview with chosen aperture and dismounting while holding that button--at f/5.6. Like this lens on the G1 as its not huge, gives me a relatively fast wider lens--and is not fishy on the 4/3rds sensor.

I tried the Lensbaby--not really great subjects for LB, but it gives an idea. I think the new Composer would allow better control (some think the charm of the LB is its lack of control

). I'll experiment with this, but with MF assist and stopping down a bit (you use magnetic rings in the lens to stop down), it offers some intriguing possibilties.

All in all--glad I bought the adaptor--I can use any EF lens, but probably will stick to these as I'm fairly well covered with my FDs and Hexanon.

No straightening done with FE, images as shot. The fishy effect is there just less noticable.

(can't remember if I posted the link to my experiments or not). No, I did not defish at all. It looks like the 4/3rds shows very little fishy effect. I tried taking some things that would possibly show it--just about what a normal WA lens would show on a FF.

Looks like a nice lens on MFT. Wide, small, not fishy.

And BTW, if you have a 14-XX lens, what use does the 15/2.8 have? The faster aperture?

That's it!! I was going to buy the Oly 17 f/2.8 just to have a wider (around 34mm FOV) faster lens than the 14-45, but the FE takes care of that until the 20 f/1.7 comes out. I have fast lens (MF FDs and a Konica) at 24, 35, 40, 50, 135) but didn't have anything wider. Its small enough, relatively, to work okay on the G1.

Hope you can find some confirmation abou the EF-S working with the EOS adaptor.

I must admit that I am a bit less enthusiastic now. During the weekend I constantly shot my 40D in LV mode using MF to mimic the experience of E-P1 with EF/EF-S lenses. Well, it was not terribly convenient. I wish Sigma would hurry and make MFT lenses. Their current FT range is rather good.
