When I first saw the front, I could not help but think of the Contax G series. No doubt, Olympus took some aesthetic design cues from that camera. Hopefully, there will be an all black version.
Yes, I was kind of hoping it would look more retro as well. This design (based on this thumbnail) is too similar to most compact cameras to appeal to me on design alone.

That said, it's distinctly better than the original mockup they were showing, which had a lot more P&S UI warts even with the 'retro' styling.
The finder itself looks to be of very high quality and is not simply a rebranding of an existing finder such as one from Cosina/Voigtlander. I hope Olympus is wise enough to include it in the rather high price. If not, this camera is going to become expensive very quickly.
Not sure why Edward can;t see the images I posted, I see them just fine in my posting. One of them was a collection of accessories for the camera.
From what I understand, the external viewfinder is separate and costs $170. This is the one annoying thing about this camera. This is an essential item, and I have to pay more than twice as much for it because they want to sell it separately instead of packaged with the camera. I guess it's just another opportunity for Cosina to sell its Voigtlander viewfinders.
I might wait to see the reviews and the final specs, but this might just be the compact I've been waiting for
Lotusm, once I visited xitek forums, the pictures popped up. Before that I got a big picture saying no direct linking or something to that effect.
To me this is the compact I've been waiting for, but not the price I've been waiting for. Just to expensive. I won't pay more then $700 for this camera.
Assuming imaging is appropriate for current 2x crop state of the art, I'm gagging for it. Even that zoom looks tiny. Any more news about when these will ship?

IIRC the finder is specifically for the 17/2.8 and will likely be included with that.

This camera, specs, price and ETA should be told to us by tomorrow's conference I would hope

.
This viewfinder does not appear to be an existing Cosina model. It actually looks more along the lines of the square/better Zeiss finders in design. Either Olympus has contracted the building/design of an entirely new finder from Cosina OR they have produced this themselves.
