I was oh so hopeful after my last outing, but things did not turn out as well as I would have liked. However, as I was ready to leave when I happened upon this guy. They have one of my all time favorite calls and bring be much joy as I hike in the summer. They are prolific singers and will sing all day all, summer long!
These pictures also are significant to me because of the extremes settings and still came out pretty nice. ISO 640, 1/40 and 1/60…Canon 40D +100-400 LIS on Tripod.
Bruce, it only looks fake to you because you knew it was there Nice clone work and a good recommendation by Gerry That is a pretty bird and you did a nice job on the image, excellent exposure and I like the glassy eye. Interesting too how that tiny leaf on the branch adds some delicate character to the perch.
Thanks everyone for your comments. It's funny, like Lil said, I too did not even notice the white leaf until Gerry pointed out. I do think it is much better with the cloning.
Also, Karl I agree the little leaf on the branch adds so much to the picture. Just can't plan stuff like that!
