This photo really caught me on an emotional level.. not so much for the image itself, but for the genuineness of the moment. The guy was talking to his future wife about his brothers shooting hoops (while wearing farm boots). The court was behind their heads in this composition.
But knowing that I shared this little moment where he just shared with a soon-to-be-family member some mundane residual childhood memory of his brothers was special. And the simple, easy affection they had (I was futzing with the flash on the stand right behind them, and they were just naturally hanging out that way) just adds to the whole genuineness of the moment.
I also connect to this moment from a parental point of view, as I hope my now 16-month old son and his twin 2-month old brothers have a moment like this 20-25-30 years down the road.
I love the shot, even without the backstory. The truck, the rooster (!), the details in the barn, but mostly the casual affection you mentioned. Thanks for sharing.
