*** SOLD *** Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 IF EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon in Like New Condition
Bought the lens in basically new condition last week just curious to see how good it is comparing to my Nikon 24-70G. To be honest, from my tests, I still don't think it's as good as the Nikon 24-70G (and it shouldn't be as expected), but I think the new Sigma lens is definitely worth its price comparing to the double priced Nikon one. For your reference, please see the test charts below, all test pictures were taken on my D700, the left side is Nikon, right side is Sigma. This Sigma lens needs -8 AF adjustment on my D700.
This sale will come with everything that came in the original lens package in as new condition including the blank warranty card and user manual, sorry no receipt as the original owner didn't give me. Also comes with the lens is a 82mm Hoya Super HMC UV filter (installed, in excellent condition, sells for $70 at B&H).

I don't know if this is the right thread to discuss it, but I agree with you. When I was shooting canon I liked my 24-70 (non-hsm) and thought it actually worked very well on the 5dmkII
p.1 #3 · Sold: ***SOLD*** Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 IF EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon
Well, based on my tests, other than the (not as good as Nikon) wide open performance, I really have no complaint with the Sigma one, I guess that's where the other $8XX goes for the Nikon one. Plus, keep in mind, these are all 100% crops, from f/4 and above, there is basically no difference between the two lenses, my test makes me believe that the same Canon version Sigma lens would completely beat the Canon 24-70, even at f/2.8, it's really not that the Sigma lens is bad at f/2.8, just that the Nikon 24-70G is too good at f/2.8.
The HSM AF is really excellent, I don't feel any difference between the Sigma HSM and the Nikon AF-S.
