yes....you can disable control tl in the utility and make sure the standard rx chanel is set to the same one your lights and meter are set to. i have them set up so that configuration 1 is control tl and in configuration 2, control tl is disabled.

I tried to do exactly that per a Flickr blog I read but I cannot seem to get the Flex to "remember" the modification. I set it and then closed the utility program and tried to trigger my flashes. Nothing happened so I started the utility again and attached the PW. When I checked the settings for C2 is was back to the C2 box being checked. I see no "save to device" selection in the utility. Any ideas on that?

the prompt in the utility is "set both configurations" you click on that and the utility box should lighten..when it returns to "normal" looking, the configuration should be saved...

That worked. Thanks. I enjoyed your equipment blog also. Will that portable stand you reviewed work with a collapsible BG also or do you have to use a proprietary one?

you are welcome....as for the bg, you really need the proprietary one as the pockets at the corners are necessary to stretch the fabric flat and taut.
