p.1 #1 · Westcott 28" and 50" softbox

Does anyone use one of these with their speedlight? I am just curious, since the speedlight actually is contained within the softbox, how easy or difficult it is to get to your flash if you need to make some adjustments?

Oh yeah...and how easy is it to adjust the angle of the softbox? Anything to make it easier maybe like a boom arm?

TIA!!

Changing the power is a pain... You have to either go from the bottom (zippers) or undo the velcro for the front panel... If you're not on a boom, the angle is very limited... Not a problem getting it to a downward angle, but still limited... The zippered opening is the reason.. It only opens up so much... A boom would definitely help... I like that its so light... But its also very specific.. Would I buy another if I lose/destroy it? No...

I use them for both speedlites and Quantums depends on how much power I need.

Unlike joewoo I don't find it a pain to change the power on the flash. I simply undo the velcro on the front and reach in to change....no biggie.

I have the 28" and while it is limited on the angle you can use it with, it doesn't bother me much, since I usually use it mounted to a monopod.

Overall I think it is a great product, super portable, does exactly what it is supposed to.
