p.1 #1 · Wedding in the Bahamas, a few travel Qs

I am shooting a wedding in the bahamas soon and this is my first trip traveling with most of my gear.

I am looking at the ThinkTank Airport International or the Airport Security. I am curious of flights to and from the Bahamas consititue International or Domestic to help me in my selection. I would rather go with the Security as I am doing another wedding late this year in Rhode Island and will have to fly again.

I have read the articles on the ThinkTank website about traveling with gear, which were very helpful. Does anyone else have experience traveling to and from the Bahamas with a large amount of camera gear?

For those with the Airport International, how much can you really stuff in there?

Hi - I have , If your flying into Miami and then connecting over on chalks air, you my want to use some of the air tight pelican cases, the flight lands and takes off on the water. If your flying right into Nassau Intl. Airport you should be ok.... BTW , I believe they are International at least they were about 10 years ago, you have to clear customs over there.....thomas

I had forgotten that I made this post and I think that a follow up is necessary in case anyone else needs information.

I ended up carrying everything but my light stands and umbrellas in a Think Tank Airport International V2.0.

In the case was the following

Canon 1DmkIII with two batteries and charger
Canon 1DmkII with two batteries and charger
580EX Speedlite
580EXmkII Speedlite
17-35 F2.8L
24-70 F2.8L
70-200 F2.8L IS
100mm Macro
50mm F1.4
Bogen Super Clamp
Two light stand hot shoe adapters
Three Pocket Wizard Plus IIs with cords and adapters
About 50 AA batteries (give or take a few)
Canon external battery pack for hot shoe flashes
Six 2gb SD cards
Six 2gb CF cards
Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket
Honl 8” speed snoot with attachment band
Honl Photo Color Effects filters
Demb Flip-it Large
Lens pen
Think Tank Whip it out in exterior pocket
Think Tank Lens Drop in exterior pocket
Think Tank Lens Changer 50 In exterior pocket
Think Tank RU Thirsty In exterior pocket
Two magazines and passport in exterior pocket

This think carries an impressive amount of gear!
I didn’t run into any problems carrying the bag on heading down to, or up from, the Bahamas. The bag was never opened or questioned.

My suitcase, which was checked, had the remainder of the Think Tank Modular set, two Bogen light stands, two silver reflective umbrellas, two white shoot through/bounce umbrellas, and a few pieces of clothes. It appears that the TSA didn’t give my bag a second look and nothing was questioned in customs going either way.

Word up, I always go to bat for this bag. It is so sturdy, so well built and thought out by photographers for photographers. Great bag.
