With all of Charlie's great post lately, they have really motivated me to go deep deep in the archives. These were from the Anchorage and Fairbanks area many years ago all shot with an old Pentax Film camera. They didn;t convert very well but still fun to play with.
To me Alaska is a place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
Wow Ray these shots are certainly stunning. The second is my favorite with the ominous clouds and fog taking over the image. It makes me really feel as if I'm there. I'm also getting really excited....because I won some tickets for an alaska cruise. Really excited to take tons of photos!!

Ah, sure and it brings tears of joy to see someone else's photographs of Alaska. Even better that they are from film.
Sorry you're having trouble with the conversions, but it's nice to have company on such a thing.
Nice shots of Broad Pass heading north to Denali. I'd sorta like to see the peak of the small mountain in the middle on #1, though.

Really nicely presented, Ray. You indicate you're having trouble with conversions, but you could have fooled me. They look great as far as I can tell.
If I had to pick a favorite, I'd go with #2. Just seeing all of that open land is liberating in a sense.

Charlie the harbor image was taken in Seward. The image was shot right after labor day tons of people on the beach there fishing for, well shall we say snagging huge 15-20LB Salmon, not real ethical in my book.
Abiciriderback: A positive visual delight to view such well-done images. They may've lost something in conversion, yet not the fine tonality, etching contrast, and comely shapes composed for high satisfaction.
Tim: Will let the OP speak for himself, but as I read his comments he converted old film photos to digital.
Anyway, yes, the photos have that high structure look to them which Silver Efex Pro offers. This effect emphasizes contrast while maintaining detail in the shadow -- very dramatic when used with care.
Tim knowns me very well we shoot together so he knows my processing flow and he has helped me out tremendously. Tim is right on the bullseye when he says Efex Silver high Structure though I cut it way back on the structure slider on these images. I also used the warmth brilliance and skylight filter to give it that tone.
