Hi, Guys...I am working on a project : Fruit - and the following image is one of my efforts.
I showed it to my husband (who is Irish) , not in the least artistically inclined. He was not impressed - his crushing comment < It looks like a couple of B... >
But I feel that you should find fresher strawberries that have the green looking less wlted.
Also feels a bit soft. Higher fstop and more diffused light would be better.
It's a strong image as it is, with intense color. My only suggestion might be to increase the depth of field in focus, because if the image is to be starkly illuminated, it seems to dilute the message to have parts of the leaves softly focused.
BTW, asking the opinion of a spouse who's not interested in photography can be like casting....
Thanks, Auntie... to be precise - my husband is not artsy - not that he doesn't appreciate art but he isn't for the fancy stuff - you know painterly effect stuff - it has to look natural to him and his logical side of him has to be satisfied i.e. there has to be a reason for it.....This is sometimes very useful to me and that's why I like to bounce ideas off him when I get carried away, overcook something so to speak ....
I have a hard time explaining, you see, English is not my mothertongue....
I will definitely reshoot something fruity and fresh
I can see your spouses POV. They seem bloated when I sit back from the screen, coupled with the less than fresh fruit I end up with a bit of a 'bleurgghhh' feeling.
I like the compostition, however maybe it's just me but the color seems a little off. Also, either more diffused flash or indirect flash would help I think. Other than that, very nice shot.
Thanks, Matt.... and Silva I can see your point - you are very funny and you got me laughing I am also rather fond of the red line in the frame...
Thanks, Dancam... so you like the composition but think the colour is a bit off? In what way please? You got me worried now....My monitors are colour profiled with EyeOne Match 3 - what do you do for color management.?
