hay, wondering what your favorite modifier is for kickers. im very limited on my lights so ive just been using a speedlight (off-camera, obviously) bare, but i feel like its a little sloppy looking if that makes any sense. what do you use? thanks -Sean
With cardboard, tape, the odd bit of foil and translucent white nylon cloth you can DIY almost anything... You create many interesting effects just shaping foil around the flash head. Just experiment until you get the look you want for the particular situation...
Soft Light - Elinchrom 17' Square with grid. Awesome modifier!! Unfortunately, I believe they are discontinued. Fortunately I have two.
A distant 2nd would probably be 2X3' softbox with grid.
Hard Light - 10" Reflector w and w/o grids (8º - 40º)
