I'm spring cleaning, so here's a few shots from my hard drive. They're from a trip to Zihuatanejo, Mexico last April. I used the 300 f2.8 and mark III with both extenders. The brown booby shots may have been posted before.

Hi, Herb.

Very nice series. I especially enjoyed the variety.

Favorites are #2, #3, and #4.

I looked at #4, and save the colorations, I swore it was a gannet. I then visited this website:

http://science.jrank.org/pages/989/Boobies-Gannets.html

I learned that they are indeed related. They are two of nine members of the Sulidae family. Many of their characteristics are very similar.

Interesting set Herb! I like the immature heron the best, what a cute shot! I had to laugh reading Ed's comment, the first thing I thought when I saw 4 was "that looks similar to a gannet".

Nice to see different birds well photographed.

Thanks Tim, I never noticed the similarity to the gannet, even though I've encountered them numerous times fishing offshore.
