A couple of shots from Africa. All taken with a d200 and 18-200, most at f8 at various ISOs. The Panos are stiched using Photoshop. All images were shot in Raw. Overall I am happy with the performance of the camera and lens, I wish I had a little faster lens at times but the lack of weight was a blessing when hitchhiking across the continent.
I spent a little over 2 months in these two countries and I highly recommend people to travel here, it's stunning and these pictures do not do the area justice.
Please comment on the photos, always looking for tips/pointers and advice
For Botswana I was alone, then I hitchhiked over to Namibia and met up with a couple great people and we ended up getting a 4x4. Namibia is hard to hitch it, there are very few people and the distances are great. That being said I did do as much hiking as I possibly could where ever we went. It is one of the most photogenic countries I have ever been to. The landscape changes so much so fast.
as for the d200, she is still kicking. Once the sand and thunder storm hit it ended being me curled into a ball trying to protect my camera. Unfortunately it ended up getting soaked during the two hours... There was very little (none) shelter out in the desert and I was not anticipating a rain storm. But on the plus side the camera is still working
Thanks for the comments, and ben i'll try and make it up north before finding a real job somewhere... we shall see
Really excellent series. I'm trying to get out to Namibia for a windsurfing event later this year - all I need is for one of the sponsors to pick up the tab
If I do get there, I'll be shooting more than just windsurfing.
Wonderful set with so many excellent images. My favorites are the sand storm images and the last two.
Must have been a one in a life time experience.

Thanks everybody, and I really hope this wasn't a once in a life experience... This is the first real trip I have done off the beaten path, and I have to say it's very very addicting.
