So...
I just won an auction on Ebay for a D1X with buffer upgrade... one of the main reasons i went after this camera was for the ability to sync beyond 1/250 (apparently all the way to 1/16,000 with PC cord)... I know the camera is spec'd at 5.47 mpx, but I have heard something about it being able to export files at 10mpx? What's the deal with this?
All the Nikon Raw editors have the ability to render a 10MP file from the D1x. the sensor is a very unique one and only found in the D1x the array is made of rectangular photosites and only Nikon editors do this sensor justice

That's a great buy! I wish I could find one like that.
and that is WITH the buffer upgrade!!
yay!!
I needed a second body for weddings.... and this should hold me over until I can (hopefully) get a D3 as my primary... and use the D700 as my secondary...
wow..... that's cheap! mine was stolen 2 years ago... grrr. I used to process the files in ACR all the time at 10mp and it worked well. That was a great camera. Get a spare battery or two, as it does eat up power. I still have my charger for the D1x, and I would buy another one sometime down the line if I could find one going cheaply used. Its an excellent vintage DSLR.
Fantastic body and great deal. Good on you. Get the BatteryBarn batteries and if you didn't get one I'd look for the AC power pack too.
The native is 5.3 but LR will pop them open to 10.3 automatically though it is an interpolation. But it does this very well and Nikon did it good on the D1x.
The glass I have are a Tokina 165, Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro, Nikon 17-35, 28/70, 70/200, 85 f1.4, Voigtlander 58 SLII and the D1x likes them all.

Forget jpg and just shoot raw.
I was going to ask about lightroom, since it is based on ACR....
when you say that it is an interpolation, is this any different than what Nikon software would do?
