p.1 #1 · A stupid focusing and micro-adjustment question

Hello to all,

If my camera (or the lens) seems to focus behind the chosen area, do I have to put for example +5 or -5 on the micro-adjustment?

Thanks for your help.

Young.

I can't remember it either so I do "try and error" and you have the answer in a few seconds.

"Seems" is too technical for me. You need to make sure it is back focusing. There are free download charts or products like LensAlign http://www.rawworkflow.com/lensalign which are expensive. Once you're sure, then it is a matter of trial and error. I believe for back focus you add a negative value.

I do believe its backwards thinking. You add + for back-focusing and - for front focusing.

+ shifts the focus plane away from you.
- shifts the focus plane towards you.

If the lens focuses behind the target, or back-focusing, you need to go into negative (-) with the fine focus adjustment.
