There are a lot of TO shooters that advertise for less than the $1K. Lots. Everyone who got a new digicam for xmas has a shingle hanging.

When I deliver I like to see the bride shed a tear or two over the photos. I'm sure these people will too.

I have more and more emails for perspective clients who want all of this and an album for under $1K. I am actually a little tired of replying back to them. Thinking about not replying to brides when they email me stuff like this.
Actually I am thinking about posting my pricing on my website--not something I have done before -- just to weed out ones like this.

Create a well thought out email, including places to sub in name of client, etc. that explains delicately and smartly why this just doesn't work for you versus other 'professionals', then copy/paste. It's rare, but two separate occasions I've turned "..can't spend more then $1500" into legit double up+ bookings with selling services. If they can't understand why something costs XXX dollars, then I let them know and sometimes it's worth it to them after the see why they need weeks of editing, or the experience, etc etc.

But yeah. WTB Sam Hassas for my wedding. $500 plz.

sadly, this represents about 75% of the unsolicited inbound emails i get. i've stopped replying. but maybe i should take the time to craft a form email that explains the drawback of booking the $500 shoot & burn guy. for me, referral is everything.

DH and I have gone as far as creating "signatures" to attach to emails and then fill in the blanks. Don't have them on this computer, but I know that one is a "we would love to be part of your day but we have already booked that date" signature. Saves time typing and you can still fill in blanks to personalize.

Won't do any good. I have my prices on my website and I still get emails that say "Can you send me pricing information?"
