Well, I hope this is just a warmup for tomorrows Seattle photoshoot. As per usual there was no light today, but my little Barrow's Goldeneye pair has returned to stay the winter.
They are pretty skittish, and getting close is not so easy--but hopefully with time I will get the light and the pose right.
This image came out a little soft, but it is a pretty strong crop. I kind of liked it anyway.

Wow them eyes are popping out Nice low perspective... I seen something on the news... you getting any floods
Thanks, Chad! ! "Are we getting any floods?"
Where we are going is one of the worst spots--the Skagit river. It may be interesting--might turn out to be a bonanza or a bust--but in any case, I know we will all have fun.

do have fun Bonnie and get wet if ya have to....did ya get wet for the golden eyes?
Thanks, Dave--I know we will. No... I didn't get wet for this one. It is a very unusual place--where water runs under a road from a backwater slough--when the tide is going out the banks are very steep sand--and you can get very low angles if you go down the bank (if you don't fall in, that is )
Hey Dave, Bonnie will get wet if I have to give her a shove!! Oh I don't see her shying away from a little water, that's for sure.
Bonnie, I found a couple of these guys downtown yesterday in one of the parks. I was able to get real close hiding behind the rocks. Of course no camera but it was fun anyway.

Well--I'll bet you could not get close if you had a camera!
We may all get wet tomorrow. Are you bringing the yak?
Those golden eyes are like beacons Bonnie Whites look a little hot to me and maybe a little detail loss due to NR? You guys are gonna have a perfect outing, I am sure you will set the forum on fire when you get back, enjoy and share
