For those of you who havent read or looked at floris`s tutorial its a must read .https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/725769/0
the image below, suffered from the gaps, and therefore previously not posted this image. so thanks to floris and his writing and image enhancement we can all start shooting the stars with a little more confidence.

having had a few PM`s with him, in a few of my recent images over the cliffs NO gaps appeared in two of the images. interestingly they where shot at 32mm, the others and this windmill shot where 24mm & below. i dont know if that has something to do with it or not but that was the only difference between all my files was the focal lenght, more reasearch is needed.

anway this shot is the now final image of Halnaker windmill from the other week. its a stack of 7 images totaling 59 mins, @ F5.6 iso 400 at 12mm 1dmk2.

the fence adds a good leadin to the mill. not as sharp as i would of liked but thats the sigma lens cant wait till i get that nikon 14-24 (hopefully).

sorry for all these star images, but this is the last for at least another day or clear night

simon

a little perserviance can go along way. it took four attempts using the method floris put together,

hope it gives people an idea og how to change the `normal` views of their local areas.
for me, i havent seen 1 single image like this of the windmill.
a quick google gives this http://www.alamy.com/stock-photography-search-results.asp?qt=halnaker+windmill&ns=1&lic=6&lic=1&archive=1&size=0xFF

some of these are good, others are not!

I like that you included the fence. And I love using the windmill. Well done.

Excellent! I might prefer the scene to be a bit darker since it is a "night" shot, but the colors and star trails look really great. Excellent image.

Sweet! I love the combination of twilight and starlight you got, makes for a lovely palate. And glad the technique worked for you

thanks floris,
the colour is mainly due to the quater moon, the milky way and some nasty LP from a city (guildford) about 20miles away.

many thanks for the time you put in to that writing, took four goes to understand wahts happening, practice makes perfect and all that

Excellent image Simon. I love the layers of colours starting from green in the foreground, reddish glow (if I may say so) in the middle layer and the blue background. The trails have come out well and the road leads you to the windmill. Very nice.
