p.1 #1 · Post your photos of gear evolution

I thought it might be interesting to do "group portraits" of cameras that represent the development of our tools over the decades. Rather than putting this in one of the presentation boards, I thought this forum might catch the eye of some of you who have used gear of many types, and still have some of it to show.

I'll start things by posting three pocketable cameras:
Kodak Retina IIa (1951)
Olympus XA (1975)
Canon Powershot G10 (2008)

Thanks to the bellows/collapsing lens, the Retina was one of the smallest 35mm cameras of its day. The Olympus managed to be a lot smaller. The lens behind the clamshell is a 35/2.8, whereas the Kodak has a Schneider 50/2. The XA also used a knob wind, while the Retina has a lever. The G10 is far from the smallest digicam, but packs a lot into its reasonable size, including 5:1 zoom lens and large LCD.

Here's a 3/4 view:

I think it would be fun to see a progression of SLRs. Anyone have a 4x5 Graflex? I think that was the first SLR in production.

Medium format from folding 6x9cm through a recent digital MF?

Thanks, I look forward to seeing the stuff you come up with!
