p.1 #1 · Anyone has experience with this lens?

If you do, how does it perform?
What mount could it be?
It's called Super Rokkor 45/2.8

Paul,
In my expert opinion I think you should immediately send it to me for testing.

Sure looks like a range finder lens. I concur with the M39 thread. If you have a M42 adapter you may try to screw it in and see if it fits. What a cute little bugger!

Agree, looks like LTM (leica thread mount), esp. given how far back the helicoid sticks back from the mount surface (e.g. short backfocus register distance) so more than likely rangefinder lens for sure.

Can this be used on 1DsMKII with an adapter?
Or do I have to convert the mount?

If it's LTM (Which it appears to be), it's unusable on any DSLR. Adaptable to an M8, RD-1 or Panny G1 though.

Paul,

This Link has information on a Minolta Rangefinder, did not realise Minolta made any LSM rangefinders prior to your posting, must be fairly rare -

Now you have to find the Camera body to go with the lens!

Again, mount conversion/modification is out of question?

You could physically mount the lens on an EOS camera, but you would be unable to achieve infinity focus, only good for close-up work.

I believe the new micro 4/3rds cameras have mounts becoming available for Leica Screw Mount lenses, the register distance of that mount will allow infinity focus with a Leica screw mount or Leica M mount lens.

It does appear to be a rangefinder lens with L39 mount. There is a minimal description here, but a photo of the lens on a rangefinder camera.
