Can pick up this lens: Vivitar Series 1 100-400 zoom Lens f/4.5-6.7 for a very cheap price. Was wondering if anyone had thoughts on this lens?

Well, it's not one of the classic Series 1 from the seventies and early eighties that rivaled OEM lenses of the time, but it might be worth a try. If you get it for a great price and don't like it, then you can probably sell it later for little or no loss.
