From Glacier Point, looking up Tenaya Canyon and across at Half Dome.
A standard view, but I thought all that granite lent itself to a B and W conversion.
Scanned from a slide, and then converted.
Thanks for posting this, Charlie. One of the things I like about this forum is that I get to see landscapes, etc. that I might not otherwise get to visit.
The only thing I would want attention drawn to is the flat side of the dome. Maybe it's my monitor, but it's so dark that I don't see any detail. I'd like to see the texture there.
Thanks for the comment, T-bone.
I've finally gotten to the point where I branched out from the Landscape Forum to People, City and Black and White forums. My Photoshop skills are marginal and improving with glacial speed. So be it. I'm in this for the fun of it, and with luck, some viewers might enjoy a shot or two.
As to the face of Half Dome lacking detail, I agree totally. I tried everything within my limited repertoire, and ultimately had to choose between a too-dark face, or washed out everything else.

If I had a dime for all the time I've spent messing around in Photoshop, I could quit my day job!
And to those who say, "Get it right in the camera," I answer, "Same story!"
