over the past 1-2 months, i was chosen to beta test the new iteration of the prophoto blog theme that many photographers already don on their blogs. i stumbled upon it and bought version one instantly, mainly because of its ability to show SUPER big pictures (900px wide) and support inline comments (they show on the blog page, you dont have to click to read them). the integrated flash-slideshow header was also a plus. there is a spot for an about me section at the top with a picture, also. it really is tailored especially for professional photographers.
but we all know how tough it is to tinker with blog backends -- CSS, code, all that boring stuff... it really should be much easier! and that's where prophoto blog V2 comes into play. the entire backend is very user friendly and WYSIWYG.
a squadron of photographers, including myself, have been working with the creator doing extensive, intensive beta testing, working out all the kinks and bugs so that when it hits the market, it runs without a hitch. this new version has a backend dedicated to customization, including EVERY detail you could possibly want. alternating comment text, specialized author comment text, comment box styling, logo and flash slideshow uploading, custom blog width, contact form generation, and it even gives you a flippin' preview of it all! no more searching for pesky hex codes. and best of all, it makes your blog look great because its EXACTLY what you want.
the first version was great looking, but left those who were inexperienced with CSS a bit lost. PROPHOTOV2 is now officially released for WordPress 2.7 (only). PM me if you would like a coupon code to save $10 off the one-time-price. Also, look, i'm featured on the website
here is the demo here is my blog with the prophotov2 theme. i stripped it all down cause thats just how a brotha rolls, but check out the hideaway about and contact form. swanky!!!!
not free upgrades since the new blog is more expensive anyways, by $79. i'm not sure about upgrading, i think you just have to pay the difference. the main feature of the new vs old is the backend, and being able to customize everything on a much higher, wysiwyg level. it takes the guessing out of editing CSS and then refreshing, blah blah blah. also, the drop down Bio and Contact sections are clutch. watch this video: http://www.prophotoblogs.com/tutorials/prophoto-overview/
tony - yes! thats what i did. i totally forgot how i did it, but its a really quick google.
I have been wanting to change my blog for quite a while now and I too have blogger and didnt want to lose everything. Let me know if you find a way Tony and I will do likewise
wordpress is free and easy to install tony, in fact if your web host uses fantastico its a one click thing. if not, its just uploading files with ftp and changing permissions. let me know if you run into issues. also, you will be able to keep your current address, since its just a redirect. so youd install wordpress in tonyhoffer.com/blog and then have blog.tonyhoffer.com link to that.
He uses bludomain.com templates... like 90% of the industry! lol...
goto the sticky located here, at the top of the wedding forum. I wrote it, but it's for eveeryone. All the major players are listed there inside the sticky.
Sergio! I'm loving it! I'm already upgraded... not posted yet with the new design, but it's sweet! =o)
That's a hot little theme! I'm trying to throw together some cash this weekend. If you still have it I'd appreciate your coupon code if no one else used it already!
