Cool shot. A lot to like here. The texture of the boat in decay and the texture of the tree trunk. I also like the sweeping line of the trunk as it swallows the boat. Do my eyes deceive me, or is the tree in the back growing over the boat as well?
I want to say this, too, and see what opinon others have: This works with the crop you have, but I think it would work with a really wide lens, too. I think it would look pretty neat as an overpowering foreground subject with the expanse of the countryside behind it even more than we can see here.
Just a thought...

Thank you T-bone1, Gavin.

This was shot during a workshop I gave, to the left is a photographer working the same. Behind him is the campus complex. The wide open countryside is an illusion. I've shot this boat a few times, this is the angle I've been most happy with. The lake/pond this lifeboat sat in (behind the trees in back of the boat) isn't too much bigger than the boat.

love the mood, love the composition. a little more room to the left of the boat, and a little more contrast would help.
