p.1 #1 · Yashica 124-G

Hey folks, just wondered if anyone has the Yashica 124-G? I'm (possibly) looking at buying one to get a bit into MF, but having been digital for a while now i have no idea what film i would need/where i could get it (UK).

Any feedback/images would be great.
Cheers

I've got one for sale, although this isn't the place for this really.

Shoot me a PM and we can talk about it more.

I am in the USA so I cant tell you where to get it in the UK. I can tell you the camera takes both 120 and 220 film and shoots 6x6cm.

I have one and have had fun shooting with it.

As someone has mentioned, you need 120 film. Try www.7dayshop.co.uk - they have a good selection. I always used either Fuji Neopan 400 or Ilford FP4+ 125 with my Yash - I'd recommend either assuming you are looking to do B&W shooting. If its colour you are after, I'm afraid I can't advise!

Once you see that big sharp negative it will be hard to go back to 35mm film and digital just isn't the same.I have a Yashica 635, similar to your 124-G. I have taken mainly black and white Ilford FP4, and developed it myself. I still have a 6 x 6 enlarger but don't use it much. The big prints you can get are amazing from medium format. good luck.
